Designer's Notes Face Off

Face Off is a "boardgame" expansion for BANG! published and sold exclusively by Arima in PDF format, with illustrations by the great Eriadan.

Basically, there are the rules for 2 players where you move the actual character figures on the board: distance depends on the characters' position on the board rather than players' positions around the table.
The key feature in this expansion is that the Renegade may be controlled by a different player each turn, according to a sort of auction made by the cards in your hand.
The other mechanics, of course, are very similar to the core rules of BANG!, but some cards and characters have a different effects reflecting the changes of a board in the game and the fact that now you can play as many Bang! cards as you wish.

The idea of a boardgame with some of the main mechanic of BANG! always fascinated me, and this Arima game is the first experiment of this kind: it sports several interesting ideas even if, following a willing choice, not too complex or strategic altogether.
